Aroldis Chapman will not return to the Pirates in 2025 as he signed a one-year deal with the Boston Red Sox worth $10.75 million on Tuesday. Chapman converted 14-of-19 saves last season and compiled a 3.79 ERA in 61.2 innings.
The Pirates also lost Hadi Raad, who was the team’s professional evaluator since January 2023. He was hired by the San Francisco Giants as their new pro scouting director. Raad also worked previously with the Marlins, Yankees and Rangers.
