Dolores “De” (Petrarca) Iezzi, 93 of Blairsville, PA, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Loyalhanna Care Center, Latrobe, PA.
She was born December 31, 1930 in Torrance, PA, the daughter of the late Samuel and Nellie (Sundry) Petrarca. De was a graduate of Derry Twp. High School Class of 1948 where she was a majorette, belonged to the band and was in the National Honor Society. She had worked at Adelphia Cable for 15 years where she was a manager until her retirement.
She was a life member of the SS Simon & Jude Church, where she married her husband of 68 years, Louis Iezzi on September 27, 1950. She and her husband were very active in volunteering for all of the church activities including her counting money and helping with funeral dinners. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and Italian Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member and past president of the BPOE Elks #406 Ladies Auxiliary and Charter Member of the Blairsville Chestnut Ridge Women’s Golf Association for 50 years.
She is survived by her son, Joseph S. Iezzi & wife, Patty, Homer City, PA; grandchildren: Kelley Klock, Sam Iezzi & wife, Jessica, Nicole Baker & husband, Kevin, Joseph Iezzi & wife, Lisa & Andrew Iezzi; great grandchildren: Tessa & Cassidy Klock, John, Jake & Austin Iezzi & Everly Baker; brother, Ronald “Riz” Petrarca & special friend, Jackie Wisneski, Torrance, PA and her nephews, Chris & Brian.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis R. Iezzi in 2018; sons, Louis “Butch” Iezzi and Gary R. Iezzi; sister-in-law, Blanche Petrarca and her infant sister.
The family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home & Monument Company, 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 2-6 PM. A wake service will be held at 2 PM in the funeral home. A funeral mass will be celebrated at SS Simon & Jude Church, Blairsville on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Segundino Laude officiating. Interment will be held in the SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, Pennsylvania.
