Louise May (Wetzel) McDivitt, 86, of Commodore, PA died on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Communities At Indian Haven in Indiana, PA.
The daughter of Russell J. and Cora P. (Mumau) Wetzel, she was born on May 6, 1938 in Green Township, Indiana Co., PA.
Louise was a member of the Pine Grove Church of God, Cherry Tree, PA.
Louise was a 1957 graduate of the Purchase Line High School.
She married Willliam L. McDivitt on June 3, 1957 and they shared over thirty-two years of marriage together.
She worked for fifteen years at both the Barnesboro Shirt Co. in Northern Cambria and Indiana Sportswear in Indiana, PA
Louise enjoyed spending time at the Clymer Senior Center. She thoroughly loved dancing, especially modern and old fashion square dancing, line dancing and single group dancing. Some of her favorite hobbies included crocheting; quilting; sewing; crafting and making carpets on a loom.
She is survived by her children: Richard W. McDivitt and wife Kelly of Mahaffey, PA;
Leta Mary Riner and husband Toby, Sr. of Bonita Spring FL and Russell L. McDivitt and companion Deb Blystone of Clymer, PA; her eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.
Also surviving are her companion, Earl Prugh of Commodore, PA and her five siblings: Carl “Buck” Wetzel and wife Clarissa of New Castle, PA; Mary Grigg of Boonesboro, MD; Bonnie Weaver and husband Willard of Georgeville, PA; Richard Wetzel and wife Barb of Marion Center, PA and Leah Dean and husband Brian of Lucernemines, PA.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: William McDivitt on March 18, 1989; her daughter, Gertrude May Bressler; her son-in-law, Franklin Bressler; her granddaughter: Rebecca McDivitt and her siblings: Evon McCoy and John Wetzel.
Family and friends will be received from 1-3:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where an 11:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 with Pastor Steve Lecorchick officiating. Interment will be at McDowell Cemetery near Clymer, PA.
