Members of the IUP community met with the two new associate deans for the proposed college of osteopathic medicine at an event Wednesday night at Kopchick Hall.
Both Associate Dean of Pre-Clinical Affairs Dr. Luke Mortenson and Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs Dr. Ryan Smith spoke about moving the process forward to reach the goal of opening the proposed school. Smith said that some of the major hurdles have been cleared with the school’s clinical rotation agreements and graduate medical education support.
Mortenson said one of the things he appreciated about the university was the small-town feel, and the fact that Indiana was also a university town.
Smith has been on the job since late July while Mortensen has been with the program since early August.
