Saltsburg Elementary School was recently named a “Blue Ribbon School” by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
The recognition highlights schools that excel in academic performance or make significant strides in closing achievement gaps among different student groups. Saltsburg Elementary earned the distinction after displaying a commitment to future-driven learning and strong collaboration among families, teachers, and administrators; and fostering a school community devoted to supporting student growth and development.
Since 1982, nearly 420 schools are selected as “Blue Ribbon” status each year. Saltsburg Elementary will receive a flag that will be on display near the school’s entryway or a flagpole, and a dedication ceremony will take place Thursday, October 24.
