Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry recently joined a coalition of 21 attorneys in support of common-sense state and federal laws that regulate gun sales.
The multistate coalition argues that federal regulations related to the transport of guns across state lines protect public safety, fortify state gun laws, and do not infringe on the Second Amendment rights of Americans. Henry said in a news release that preventing guns from crossing state lines, unless allowed by the federal government, will keep guns from “getting into the wrong hands.” She cites straw purchases as an unlawful transfer of firearms.
The coalition filed an amicus brief in the nationwide case against Steven Perez, arguing that federal laws preventing individuals from transporting or receiving firearms outside state lines in which they reside are essential in protecting public safety.
Henry joins the attorneys general from 21 other states in this filing.
