Indiana Borough Police released details on two DUI-related incidents from mid-to-late June.
The one happened shortly before 2 AM on June 15th. Officers say they stopped a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Jameel Watson of Indiana in the 500 block of Nixon Avenue for a summary traffic violation, but an investigation showed he was under the influence of alcohol to the point where he was unsafe to drive. Watson was arrested and taken to a hospital for evidence collection before being released. A criminal complaint of DUI was filed through District Judge Tony Sottile’s office.
The second happened around 2:43 AM on June 23rd in the 00 block of South 4th Street. Officers say they conducted a traffic stop on a car driven by 18-year-old Joseph Moody of Shelocta and found he was under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and submitted to a blood draw before being released to a sober adult. A criminal complaint was filed through Judge Sottile’s office.
