Indiana and Marion Center fire departments were busy on Wednesday with a few calls for service, according to Indiana County 911.
The Indiana Fire Association’s first call for service yesterday was at 12:13 for a call of utility lines down on Martin Avenue in White Township. An eyewitness said that a truck took out a utility pole and brought down utility lines and blocked traffic temporarily. About four hours later, Indiana fire crews were dispatched for a vehicle accident on Oakland Avenue in White Township. Citizens Ambulance joined firefighters on the scene of the accident.
Marion Center fire crews were called out at 7:24 PM for a brush fire on Manor Street in the borough. In a post on the department’s Facebook page, the cause of the fire was a possible out-of-controlled burn. This marks the 29th brush fire call in the county this year. No word yet on how much property was damaged. Crews were also out at 3:37 AM for utility lines down on Route 403 in East Mahoning township.
And Blairsville and Black Lick fire crews were called out for an automatic fire alarm activation at 4:17 AM for a property on Moorewood Avenue in Blairsville Borough. Fire crews were joined by borough police.
