Rebecca M. Krisak-Buterbaugh, 60 of Allentown and formerly of Indiana, died Monday, May 13, 2024 in Indiana with her family by her side. Born August 5, 1963 in Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Edward J. Krisak and Virginia M. (Hulse) Krisak. She was the wife of Richard Buterbaugh, whom she married November 16, 1991.
She was a 1981 graduate of Indiana Area High School, a 1982 graduate of Pittsburgh Beauty Academy and had attended classes at IUP from 1993 – 1995.
As a cosmetologist, Rebecca previously owned and operated Noggins Hair Care in Indiana. She later worked in home health care as a nurse’s aide. She was a former member of Grace United Methodist Church, Indiana and was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Macungie.
Rebecca was a member of the Lehigh Valley Kennel Club and the Watchung Mountain Yorkshire Terrier Club. She was involved with Indiana County Junior Miss and was a co-chair of Pennsylvania Junior Miss.
She was an AWANA Leader and sang with the Indi-Anna Chorus of Sweet Adelines.
In addition to her husband, Rick, Rebecca is remembered by her sons, Justin and Tanner Buterbaugh. Her siblings are: Johanna S. Leach (Terry); Roxanne Embry (Dodge) and Peach Mack (Chuck). Her brothers and sisters in-law are: Debra K. Hiller (Tom); William D. Buterbaugh (Tammy); Sue Ann Lauver (Mark); Skip Buterbaugh (Bridgett); Cathy Rice (Chris); Mary M. Aimino-Buterbaugh (Mil); Special friends, Cheryl Henke; Nancy Scala; and Christopher Ordiway.
Nieces and nephews: Alexander Krisak (Elizabeth); Tara Lindenmuth (Kevin); Lisa Leach; Laura Joos (Bill); Matthew Dye (Beth); Thomas Dye (Chelsea); Greg Buterbaugh (Brittani); Eric Buterbaugh (Jenna); David Buterbaugh (Michelle); Kara Balogh (Kris); Nick Rice (Sydney); Carrie Rice; Whitney Henry (Keith); Adam Embry (Bethany Smith). Rebecca is further remembered by numerous great nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Brian Krisak and father-in-law, Richard D. Buterbaugh.
Visitation is Friday, May 17th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory of Indiana (965 Philadelphia St.). Her funeral will begin at 8PM at the funeral home. Pastor Kathy Mihoreck will officiate.
