A Blairsville man is facing multiple charges after a police pursuit last month that resulted in a drug investigation. The state police report does not identify the suspect but court documents reveal he is 24-year-old Jacob Isaiah Hankinson. He’s accused of fleeing when a state trooper tried to pull over the motorcycle he was operating on Marshall Heights Road in Blacklick Township on April 28th. Police say Hankinson went a short distance, then ditched the cycle and tried to flee on foot but he was apprehended.
The investigation revealed that Hankinson was not authorized to use the motorcycle and had outstanding arrest warrants. He also had discarded a backpack during the chase and inside it were more than 200 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, and $1,340 cash. His court docket includes a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver, 9 misdemeanor counts related to drugs, use of the motorcycle, and fleeing, plus 12 summary traffic violations.
Hankinson is being held on $50,000 bond. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled June 17th before District Judge Christopher Welch.
