School buses in Indiana were a bit lighter this morning as students from Eisenhower and Horace Mann Elementary Schools took part in the 22nd Bike to School Day, hosted by the Indiana County Office of Planning and Development.
Students departed from the KCAC at 8:05 AM and traveled through IUP’s campus and Church Street before arriving at their respective schools.
Josh Krug with the Office of Planning and Development highlighted the benefits of Bike to School Day.
Krug adds Indiana Area School District did a commendable job at promoting the event.
Also contributing to Bike To School Day were members of the Indiana County Sheriff’s Office and Citizens’ Ambulance, who safely led bikers through town; Indiana Regional Medical Center, who provided pre-ride snacks; and Indiana County Commissioner Sherene Hess.
