State police have released the identity of a suspect charged in connection with a robbery at a gas station in Armstrong Township in 2010.
32-year-old Alexander Theodule Pelletier of Williamsport was identified as a suspect in the robbery of the Shelocta BP convenience store and gas station along Route 422 near Shelocta. On September 17th of 2010, police say that a male employee was cleaning the store when Pelletier allegedly came in, demanded money, and threatened to shoot the employee. The employee swung a vacuum sweeper at Pelletier and the two got into a fight where the employee was punched. The suspect fled on foot but left behind a bandanna that was covering his face.
State police used DNA evidence from the bandana to confirm Pelletier’s identity and members of the Criminal Investigation Unit from Troop F in Montoursville interviewed and took him into custody.
Pelletier faces charges of felony robbery and misdemeanor counts of simple assault and attempted theft. He is free on $10,000 bail and is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing at 10:45 AM on May 14th.
