The Indiana School District held an open house on Tuesday at Horace Mann elementary school as part of the process to help determine its future.
The building will no longer house elementary grades, so a decision will need to be made on what to do with the building. Superintendent Robert Heinrich said that different groups were there for different reasons, including a company from Greensburg interested in turning the building into a senior living center, some education partners that want to keep it an educational facility, and others who just wanted to explore the building.
He added that the district was still considering all options when it came to Horace Mann’s future.
The district is still accepting comments from the public on what they want to see the Horace Mann building become. Interested parties can submit comment through the district website, www.iasd.cc.
