The Indiana County Commissioners rejected a bid to build and make repairs to a maintenance building at Pine Ridge Park.
The county received only one bid that came to $1.9 million. The commissioners accepted a recommendation to reject the bid that came in due to the high cost of the project. Commissioners Chairman Mike Keith said that they will review the project’s specifications.
In other business, the commissioners accepted congratulated HR Director Melissa Miller, who received the 2024 PCOMP Claims Reporting Award from Pennsylvania Counties Workers Compensation Trust and the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania.
And the commissioners also approved applying for PCOMP safety improvement program grants. One request would pay for three ballistic vests for the Indiana County Sheriff’s Office and the other would be to provide tactical boots and badges for the probation office.
