Several sentencing hearings were held in Indiana County’s Court of Common Pleas on Friday, including three for a Homer City man.
One sentencing hearing for 41-year-old Richard Kolesar was for charges of burglary, theft, criminal mischief, evading arrest and driving under the influence connected with an incident on January 11th of last year. Other charges connected with the case were not prosecuted as part of a plea agreement. For burglary, he was ordered to serve three to 23 months in Indiana County Jail. An additional nine to 23 months in county jail for the DUI charge. He will also serve a year of probation for each of the other counts in this case. These sentences will run consecutively with one to five years in state prison for each case of DUI.
Also sentenced yesterday was Richard Smith, Jr. of Bellefonte, who pleaded guilty to retail theft and fleeing or attempting to elude. While he was sentenced to serve up to a day less than two years in county jail, he was paroled immediately.
