John Steigert with the Indiana Fire Association said the fire was caused after someone was burning debris nearby and approximately 10-12 acres were affected. The fire extended towards Warren Road, but crews were able to stop the blaze before it reached the roadway.
Steigert said harsh winds made it challenging for firefighters to contain the blaze.
Steigert credited assisting agencies for their efforts in containing the fire quickly.
No structures were affected by the fire and no one was hurt. Crews were on scene between 45 minutes to an hour.
