Two men who are serving time in Indiana were sentenced to further jail time for incidents that occurred while they were in custody.
25-year-old Kenneth Murphy pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated assault from a case in January of last year was ordered to serve two to 20 years in state prison followed by 12 months of re-entry supervision. Other charges, including assault by a prisoner, a second count of aggravated assault and others were not prosecuted as part of the plea agreement.
Meanwhile, 28-year-old Edward Ortiz was sentenced to two to five years for each count of aggravated harassment by a prisoner for charges that stemmed from an incident on June 2nd, 2023. Other charges, including simple harassment, terroristic threats and disorderly conduct were not prosecuted.
