A Kittanning man was sentenced for sexually abusing children and women between 2020 and 2022.
Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry announced that 25-year-old Zachary Baum was ordered to serve between nine and 25 years in prison for charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual abuse of children, corruption of minors, indecent assault, strangulation, stalking and simple assault. Baum used social media platforms including Snapchat and Facebook to prey on the victims. During the trial, the victims testified that Baum continually harassed them until he convinced them to meet him in person.
Henry said that the victims were very brave to step forward and tell their stories, saying that the conviction in October and the resulting sentence would not have been possible without their testimony.
On top of the prison time, Baum must register as a sex offender under Meghan’s Law.
