State police are investigating the fatal crash Wednesday morning in White Township that claimed the life of an Indiana man.
Troopers say the crash happened along Old Route 119 just north of Chevy Chase Street shortly before 5 AM. The driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck, who was not named but described only as a 31-year-old Northern Cambria man, was driving south when it hit a bicycle operated by 25-year-old Noah Matthew Chappell in the rear position. The truck came to rest in the center turning lane, while the bicycle ended up in the southbound lane.
Chappell was pronounced dead at the scene by members of the Indiana County Coroner’s Office.
State police utilized collision analysis reconstruction and forensic service units, and an investigation is ongoing.
No word if the driver of the truck will be charged.
