IUP will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony this afternoon to dedicate its new mathematics and science building.
The ribbon-cutting for John J. and Char Kopchick Hall will take place this afternoon at 4 o’clock in the Oak Grove on IUP’s campus. The $90 million math and sciences building is named after Dr. John and Char Kopchick, long-time IUP supporters and alumni, who donated $23 million in April 2018 that would go towards math and science initiatives at IUP. The building takes up approximately 142,536 square feet and was built on the site of the former Leonard Hall. It includes a 51,600 square foot laboratory.
The event is free and open to the public. We will have more from the ceremony later this afternoon.
