UPDATE: At the Indiana County Commissioners reorganization meeting, the commissioners elected Mike Keith as the chairman of the board of commissioners. Robin Gorman was named the vice-chairperson of the board, and Sherene Hess as the board secretary. The board also retained Robin Maryai as the chief clerk and Matt Budash as board solicitor.
Commissioner appointments to the various boards and authorities will come during the regular meetings later this month. The meeting schedule was also approved, with meetings set for the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month at 10:30 AM, except for this month. Meetings for January will be on the 15th and 29th at 10:30.
WHAT WE PREVIOUSLY REPORTED
Three reorganization meetings are set for today in Indiana County.
The Indiana County Commissioners will have their reorganization meeting today at 10:00 am in the Commissioners meeting room. Commissioners Sherene Hess, Robin Gorman and Mike Keith will vote for the new Commissioners chairman. The three were sworn in on December 27th at ceremonies held at the Indiana County Courthouse. This will mark the start of Hess’ second term of office, while Gorman and Keith will start their first terms of office today.
Later today, the Center Township Supervisors will hold their reorganization meeting. Newly-elected supervisor Matthew Housholder will start a six-year term. The supervisors will hold their regular meeting after reorganization at 6:30 tonight.
And Indiana Borough Council will have their reorganization meeting tonight as well. That meeting starts at 7:00 PM at Council chambers.
