Those in search of employment might be in luck as officials with PennDOT announced on Tuesday that they will host a job fair next week in Indiana.
The job fair will take place next Tuesday, September 12th at the Indiana County Maintenance Office along Oakland Avenue from noon to 8 p.m. and PennDOT will look to fill several full-time, part-time and seasonal positions.
Those interested are encouraged to attend the job fair to learn more about current opportunities. District employees will be on-hand to answer questions and assist with the application process.
A full list of available positions can be found below:
Permanent full-time positions include: CDL Operators (Transportation Equipment Operator A) and Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanics. Seasonal full-time and part-time positions include Winter Equipment Operators and a Seasonal Clerk/Winter Dispatcher position.
Full-time Equipment Operators plow snow and work on maintenance/construction sites, complete minor repairs to equipment and perform manual labor tasks and preventative maintenance on the trucks and equipment. CDL Medical Certification and Drug/Alcohol testing are required for operators.
The Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic position performs repairs and maintenance on various pieces of PennDOT equipment and diesel-powered vehicles
Part time/Winter Equipment Operator duties during the winter season include: snow removal, traffic control, equipment repair and maintenance, guide rail repair and truck unloading. CDL Medical Certification and Drug/Alcohol testing are required for operators.
Seasonal Clerks/Winter Dispatchers coordinate responses to calls from the public and emergency services during snowstorms and perform clerical functions throughout the season.
