The Indiana School Board is expected to name the district’s new permanent superintendent tonight at tonight’s meeting.
The board announced that they would officially name acting superintendent Robert Heinrich as the new permanent superintendent. Heinrich has been serving as the acting superintendent since the resignation of Michael Vuckovich earlier this year. He stepped down to take on a similar post in the Windber School District. Heinrich received his letter of qualification from the Pennsylvania Department of Education in June. The board wants to take action now to “ “stabilize the central office administration to the greatest extent possible, to ensure a solid start for this upcoming school year, and to continue the good work and program initiatives started by Mr. Heinrich and his immediate predecessor.”
The board is also expected to accept the resignation of Junior High Operational Principal Donald Bowers. He is stepping down to become the United School District’s Director of Education, which was approved by the United School Board at its meeting last week.
Tonight’s meeting starts at 7:00 PM at the Sr. High Upper Commons.
