The Indiana School Board is expected to name acting superintendent Robert Heinrich the next superintendent of schools at their meeting next Monday.
Heinrich has served as Director of Education under previous Superintendent Michael Vuckovich until Vuckovich stepped down in May to become the Superintendent in the Windber School District. Since then, Heinrich has been acting superintendent. According to a news release, Heinrich received his letter of qualification for hire from the Pennsylvania Department of Education in early July, which will allow the board to hire him as the permanent superintendent.
The board decided to take action on hiring Heinrich now to “stabilize the central office administration to the greatest extent possible, to ensure a solid start for this upcoming school year, and to continue the good work and program initiatives started by Mr. Heinrich and his immediate predecessor.”
That meeting will be held August 14th at 7:00 PM at the Senior High Upper Commons.
