UPDATE: More details were released on a fire in Cowanshannock township on Monday night.
The fire was reported at 424 Powers Cross Road, just south of Rural Valley, around 8:00 PM on Monday. Rural Valley Fire Chief Chris Moore confirmed that the fire started in a garage and spread to the wood-framed house. The property owner, Bill Powers, suffered burn injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. No firefighters were injured.
Crews from Rural Valley, Plumville, Elderton, Rayburn Township, Kittaning Township and Kittaning #6 fire departments were on-scene for about three-to-four hours to fight the fire. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown, but Moore said that the cause was not suspicious in nature.

Fire departments from Indiana and Armstrong Counties were in Cowanshannock township last night for a structure fire.
The fire was reported at 424 Powers Cross Road around 8:00 PM on Monday. Initial reports say that a garage was fully involved and the fire had extended to a nearby dwelling. A helicopter was also requested to transport one victim to the hospital with burn injuries.
Plumville Volunteer Fire Department was called in to assist on-scene, with Marion Center Fire Department providing standby detail for Plumville.
