The Indiana School Board is scheduled to meet tonight and two motions connected with the Eisenhower Elementary project are on the proposed agenda.
Up for approval tonight is a motion to approve a design development submission from Buchart Horn Architects. Those plans include updates to the mechanical drawings that were discussed at the March 28th board workshop and in compliance with Buchart Horn and the district. The other motion concerns the date for an Act 34 hearing for the project, setting that date for May 1st at the High School Auditorium at 6:30 PM. Act 34 hearings are required by the PA Department of Education when a school district either wishes to build a new school or make substantial additions to a previously existing one. Maximum building construction costs, school building capacity, and aggregate building expenditures are all items that will be examined by this process. The hearing is needed as any potential PlanCon reimbursement would be forfeited if they are not held.
The board will also look to approve memorandums of agreement with the Indiana Borough and State Police, and approve the list of graduating seniors. The meeting will be held at 7:00 PM tonight at the district board room and will also be streamed online at IASD.cc.
