With the recent release of the state’s Broadband Plan, which came out on Monday, Senator Joe Pittman expressed his thoughts on what direction the process goes next.
On Indiana in the Morning, Pittman showed appreciation for the plan, saying that it updates current infrastructure, while introducing new infrastructure to Indiana County and other areas.
The plan focuses on the challenges and opportunities including broadband availability, digital equity and affordability, device and technology access, digital literacy, and technical support. Some of the things offered include classes geared towards educating certain individuals on digital literacy, cybersecurity, and broadband as a whole.
While this all sounds great, Pittman said it will not be a one-size-fits-all solution.
Pittman added that he encourages residents to call his office if they have broadband-related issues or concerns.
