State police and Indiana County District Attorney Bob Manzi released more details regarding the suspects involved in the death of a West Wheatfield Township man last month.
In a news release, troopers said that the seven adult suspects involved in the death of 19-year-old Hayden Robert Garreffa were charged with one count of Criminal Homicide by Magisterial Judge Suzanne Steffee earlier today. Those suspects are:
- 21-year-old Desean Garcia Alvarez of Hammond, Indiana.
- 21-year-old Isaac Joel Buchkoski of Johnstown,
- 18-year-old Mia Shai Catalfano of Johnstown,
- 18-year-old Taylyn Nashell Edwards of Johnstown,
- 20-year-old Thomas Alan Rivera of Johnstown,
- 18-year-old Summer Isabella Settlemyer of Johnstown,
- 18-year-old Jesse Lee Wadsworth of Johnstown.
All seven were also denied bail and were initially charged with kidnapping following their arrests.
The eighth defendent, a 14-year-old girl, remains charged as a juvenile with Kidnapping and is currently lodged in a juvenile detention facility. Her identity was not made public due to her age.
Manzi said that the investigation is on-going to determine the particular role each suspect had in Garreffa’s death. He adds that he appreciates the hard work of the state police in this investigation.
