Indiana Borough Police report three incidents involving public drunkenness over the weekend.
The first incident happened Friday night around 11:35 p.m. when officers were called to the 200 block of Oak Street for reports of an intoxicated man in the area. The man was identified as 44-year-old Jay Mohney of Indiana and officers say he was intoxicated to a degree where he was a danger to himself and others. He was evaluated at IRMC then released to a sober adult.
A non-traffic citation for public drunkenness was filed through Magisterial Judge Guy Haberl’s office.
The next two incidents happened within two hours of each other Sunday morning.
Officers say they arrested an unnamed 17-year-old from Jeannette around 3:44 a.m. after he was found highly intoxicated in the 400 block of South 7th Street. He was taken to IRMC for medical evaluation and later cited with public drunkenness and underage drinking through Judge Haberl’s office.
Then, officers were dispatched to a home in the 200 block of North 6th Street around 5:13 a.m. for reports of a man, later identified as 21-year-old Collin Jordan of Catawissa, sleeping on a porch. He was arrested and charged with public drunkenness through Judge Haberl’s office before being released to a sober adult.
