Today is Labor Day, which was meant to honor the American worker and the labor movement across the United States. As today is a federal holiday, there are several closures in effect for today.
All federal, state and local government offices will be closed for the day today, along with courts and PA Driver’s License Centers. PA Liquor Stores that would normally be open today will be open until 5:00 tonight.
Post offices will be closed today and there will be no regular mail delivery. UPS and FedEx will also not deliver packages today. Many banks are closed today, and customers will be encouraged to use the bank’s online portal or an ATM to do their banking today. The New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq will also be closed today.
