At their meeting this morning, the Indiana County Commissioners approved putting some of the county’s American Rescue Plan Act funds into liquid bond.
Indiana County Treasurer Kimberly McCullough made the request to move $3 million of ARPA funds into a liquid bond through Stewart Capital Advisors. The rate would be a 2.71% with a .13% fee. McCullough talked about why they wanted to go with a liquid bond.
The Commissioners also approved a grant application from the Prothonotary’s office to the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission for $5000. The money from the Histoical and Archival Records Care Grant would be used to purchase acid-free boxes to store records and shelves for those boxes. The county plans to use a storage area at District Judge Guy Haberl’s office on 4th Street to store court records being moved out of the basement.
Prothonotary Randy Degenkolb said that the grant will go a long way to help towards the $6892 cost to move the records. If the grant is awarded, any remaining costs would be pursued through the county records improvement fund, and not the county’s general fund.
