The River Valley School District’s STEAM Academy is scheduled to open in late August, and the district is inviting students from other schools to enroll.
The STEAM Academy will be located in the former Saltsburg Middle-High School. It will offer four courses initially: Electrical Occupations, Sports Medicine and Rehabilitative Therapy (known as “SMaRT”), Cybersecurity, and Esports. Each of the workforce-oriented courses will offer students the opportunity to obtain both macro-credentials and several industry-recognized certifications.
Superintendent Philip Martell said on Indiana In the Morning last week that students will attend the academy in the morning and return to the River Valley campus for their afternoon classes.
Students from other districts who wish to go to the River Valley STEAM Academy are encouraged to contact River Valley High School principal Mike Leasure.
