The Indiana County Commissioners this (Wednesday) morning got some encouraging news from the county’s Emergency Management Director about Covid-19.
Director Tom Stutzman said that Indiana County falls under the “low” level of the CDC’s guidelines, meaning that people can choose to mask at any time, and keep up to date with vaccines. He also said that masks should continue to be used in the presence of immunocompromised persons. Stutzman added that even though numbers are trending the right way, this is not the time to let up on some preventative measures.
In other business, Commissioner Robin Gorman announced the dates and times for three meetings where the public will be allowed to discuss how American Rescue Plan Act funds will be used in Indiana County. Gorman said she felt it important to not only get the local government’s perspective on how the money should be used, but the people’s perspective as well.
Those meetings are scheduled for April 14th at 7:00 PM at S&T Bank Arena, April 18th at the Armagh Fire Hall and on April 27th at the Marion Center Community Hall. Each meeting will be a hybrid meeting, meaning that people can join in person or on Zoom video chat.
