Governor Tom Wolf has announced that four places across the state will receive grants from the state Department of Human Services to help improve integration between behavioral health and and primary care in the state, and one of those recipients is in Indiana County.
The Community Guidance Center and Primary Health Network in Indiana County will receive funds along with three other entities over the next five years. The funding comes from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration through its promotion of Primary and Behavioral Health Care Cooperative agreements. The money going to the Community Guidance Center will be used to help treat adults with mental illness and co-occuring physical health conditions or chronic diseases.
That money will be awarded $2 million a year over the next five years, but that $2 million will be split between four agencies.
