On Tuesday night, Indiana Borough Council approved replacing the law firm representing them in union negotiations with borough solicitor Pat Dougherty.
The borough council unanimously approved removing Campbell Durant as the borough’s representative in negotiations with the Utility Workers of America local 580 and letting Dougherty take over. Dougherty will work directly with council as negotiations continue, and he hopes that he can move things forward after borough workers going two years without a contract.
In other business, the borough approved the 2022 budget, which went unchanged from the budget presented in November. The borough’s 2022 tax code was also approved, and it includes no tax increases for borough residents.
