Indiana Borough Council discussed the budget Tuesday night during their agenda prep session.
The proposed budget presented to council included revenues of roughly $5.3 million, but it also includes a deficit of $140,408. To fill the gap, the proposed budget will include a transfer from the borough’s $1.3 million reserves. Council president Peter Broad said that even with the deficit, the budget looks to be in good shape.
Council will look to approve the budget for advertisement at their regular voting meeting on November 16th.
In other business, borough council approved two promotions in the Indiana Borough Police Department. Sergeant Eric Slovinsky was promoted to Lieutenant to fill the position vacated with the retirement of Anthony Clement. Patrolman First Class Jeffrey Hoag to Sergeant to fill the position vacated with Slovinsky’s promotion.
