Before the start of the Indiana School Board’s special voting meeting, the Buildings, Grounds and Transportation Committee talked about making sure that there are enough bus drivers to meet the district’s needs.
Buildings, Grounds and Transportation Committee member Terry Kerr said that as of right now, the district is able to meet their needs as far as drivers are concerned, but that could change quick, and the Committee and Transportation and Safety Coordinator Michael Travis are asking for people who hold a CDL License to apply.
During the voting meeting, the board approved extra pay/extra duty assignments for Sarah Brown as the swimming head coach, Lee Schweitzer as the senior high drama technical assistant for the two plays and musical, and Jason Olear as the director for the High School Musical Pit Orchestra. The reason why they were not on the agenda at last Monday’s meeting was because the board was not adequately review the qualifications of several of the extra duty/extra pay positions prior to the meeting. Board President Walter Schroth took responsibility for pulling the motion from last weeks’s agenda, saying it was in no way a reflection on the candidates or their qualifications for various positions.
