Multiple fire companies were called out last night for a fire in West Mahoning Township.
Indiana County 911 reports that the initial dispatch went out at 10:39 PM for a structure fire on Neal Flat Road. Plumville, Dayton and Perry Township fire departments were called out at that time, with Marion Center and Rossiter fire departments called out an hour later to provide assistance with tanker trucks. Marion Center was later called on to provide full assistance along with the Rural Valley fire department at 11:38 PM. Indiana and Creekside fire departments would be called in for standby detail in that time.
Initial reports from the Marion Center Volunteer Fire Department said that a barn had caught fire and it was endangering other structures. They were able to confirm the barn had equipment inside and no animals. A second structure was endangered as a truck inside the structure caught fire. The main building would be destroyed by 10:59 PM, with the second structure having caught fire since then.
Dayton fire crews were called back to the scene at 3:21 this morning as the fire rekindled.
