At their meeting Wednesday night, the White Township Supervisors approved the creation of a new recreation advisory board subcommittee.
The new subcommittee would deal with wood lot management, including White’s Woods, according to Rec Department director Ryan Shaffer.
Township manager Milt Lady felt that the wood lot management would best be served by this subcommittee as it would allow people from outside the township to be on it and recommendations would still come back to the township supervisors for their approval. Applications for the subcommittee will be accepted soon.
In other business, the board of supervisors received a draft plan for deer management in White’s Woods, which according to township manager Milt Lady, is based on the Murraysville Deer Management Plan that has been successful for a long time.
The plan is being submitted to DCNR for their review, and will also be posted on www.whitetownship.org for public review. The public is also invited to submit comment on the proposed plan by September 17th.
