During this morning’s meeting, The Indiana County Commissioners said that the county’s COVID-19 vaccination numbers continue to improve.
Earlier this month, the Commissioners proclaimed June as COVID Vaccine Month. Commissioners Chairman Mike Keith said that the number of people over the age of 10 getting vaccinated continued to increase.
As of today, Pennsylvania’s positivity rate is at 1.4 percent, and no counties are above a 20 percent positivity rate. Indiana County’s rate from June 11 to the 17 is 0.5 percent.
In other business, the commissioners approved two revolving loan fund loans. One of them was a CARES act revolving loan fund of $50,000 to Quality Inn and Suites in Indiana; the other is a regular revolving loan fund loan of $250,000 to go to Upstreet Ace Hardware and Lucy Rae Holdings for the startup of an Ace Hardware Store at the former Cambria Rowe Business College on 13th Street in Indiana.
