At Monday night’s meeting, the Indiana Area School Board authorized administration to move forward with a goal to have students be in the classroom five days a week in the 2021-2022 school year.
During the meeting, superintendent Michael Vuckovich said that the district would be following State Department of Health guidelines to get students back in front of teachers on a normal schedule.
The board also approved spending an additional $50,000 from the district’s ESSER fund for the district’s summer camp for elementary students. Vuckovich said that response to the program has been positive, as over 460 families are participating in the program.
The board also approved renewing the contract of Beard Legal Group PC as district solicitor, and the board approved the extra pay/extra duty assignments for 56 positions ranging from the performing arts to fall and winter coaching positions.
