The 29th Annual Oldies Attic TurkeyThon was another great success for the year.
As the Oldies Attic left the airwaves, the TurkeyThon total was around $45,000, but they are expecting a bit more to come in as the days go on.
The money is going to the United Way, and several local grocery stores donated to the Salvation Army, Homer City Food Bank, The Community Kitchen in Dixonville, Deacon’s Food Pantry in Blairsville, the Chevy Chase Community Center, and homeless veterans organizations. Otto said that even a donation came in from Minnesota from his daughter-in-law
At the end of the TurkeyThon, United Way Campaign Chairman Joe Pittman presented Otto with a special plaque to honor his years of service with the TurkeyThon to the United Way.
