Some entertainment options are opening back up in Indiana County as the Indiana Mall movie theater re-opens this weekend.
The movie theater closed at the start of the coronavirus pandemic under Governor Wolf’s mandate that all “non-life-essential” businesses close. Social distancing guidelines will be practiced at the theater starting today, including limiting the number of people in an auditorium, staggering showtimes to make sure people do not crowd the lobby, and low contact concession and ticket pickup. There will also be a longer and more intensive cleaning of each auditorium between shows, and hand sanitizer stations will be set up in the theater.
This comes one week after the Palace Gardens Drive-In Theater reopened for the season. Both places have been showing older movies, and in a bit of a scheduling oddity, both the Palace Gardens and the MovieScoop Indiana Mall will show the film “Beetlejuice” this weekend.
