No one was hurt in a garage fire on Monday in Burrell Township.
Indiana county 911 reports that Blairsville, Black Lick, Homer City and Coral-Graceton fire departments were called in, along with the Hazmat team and Citizen’s Ambulance, to the fire scene on Newport Road.
Blairsville fire department said that the cause of the fire was accidental in nature. The garage was gutted and one vehicle inside was destroyed. Fire crews had to use fire-suppressing foam to put out the car fire as the vehicle was leaking gas. A couple of lawnmowers were also damaged.
Blairsville fire chief Turk Burkley said that the garage was detached, but there was some exposure to the house and some pine trees. The crews quickly knocked down the fire.
