Helen Louise (Rummel) Bowman, 89 of Indiana went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. She was born January 23, 1936 to Sylvester and Ethel Rummel at their family home in Cambria County.
She was a loving wife and mother and spent time baking, making clothes for her daughters and their dolls. She loved to crochet dollies, make lap quilts and dresses for the children in Haiti and Africa. She was blessed to go on three mission trips to Haiti which she loved and talked about all the time. She also loved making quilts for her family and quilting and sewing pillows which she gave to many people. She made the best homemade rolls. She loved making them for her church spaghetti dinner and other activities at the church and loved giving them to her family and friends.
Her love for the outdoors showed in her flower gardens and vegetable gardens. She also loved to go camping with dad and their sheltie dog Buster.
Louise worked at Season-All from 1974 until they closed and then she became a Care-Giver. She loved everyone that she cared for and worked as a Care-Giver until she was 80. When she was 13 she became the Care-giver for her sibling while her mother worked. She said “Once a Care-giver always a Care-giver” and her love showed in all those she took care of.
Surviving Louise to cherish her memory are her children, daughter Rhonda (Bob) Crowe of Indiana, daughter Sandra (Bob) Deemer of Indiana, son Bryan (Tammy) Bowman of Indiana, her sister Gerry (Bud) Gamble of Indiana and Kay (Mark) Markovich of Iowa. She is also survived by 10 Grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and was waiting to meet the ones that were arriving in May, July and September. She loved spending time with her family and friends and loved ones.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Orrie Bowman, daughters Barbara Spencer, Violet Lloyd and Marty Neiswonger and grandson Raymond Spencer. Also, her brothers Ed and Ron Rummel and sisters Beverly Butterworth and Cheryl Hoffman.
Service for Louise will be held on Saturday, May 3rd at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 1470 Bethel Church Rd., Indiana, PA. Viewing will be from 10 am-12 noon with the service following immediately at noon with Pastor Terry Semsick, officiating. Interment will be made in the Bethel Church Cemetery. McCabe-Roof Funeral Home in Clymer has been entrusted with her care.
