James “Terry” Shaffer, 74, of Uniontown, PA died on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center in Indiana, PA.
The son of James Harvey and Margaret Effie (Wright) Shaffer, he was born December 6, 1950 in Winter Haven, FL.
He had served his country in the US Army.
On May 25, 1974, Terry married Rhonda L. (Boring). They had shared over forty-seven years of marriage together when she died on June 20, 2021.
Except for almost fourteen years working as a coal miner until the closure of the Greenwich Collieries, the remainder of Terry’s career was as a mechanic with Wilson’s Small Engine in FL and for Frank Yarnal and others in PA.
Some of Terry’s favorite pastimes revolved around camping; hunting and tinkering on projects in his garage.
Terry is survived by his two children: Kerri Musser and boyfriend, Jimmy Brewer of Indiana, PA and Derek Shaffer and wife Angel of Uniontown, PA; his five grandchildren: Page Musser; Hunter Musser; Mason Shaffer; Ava Jozefczyk and Maleah Shaffer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and his sister, Barbara Bryant.
At Terry’s request, there will not be a visitation or funeral service.
