The Heritage Conference races continue to be tight as we enter the new week, and again the weather will play a major role in this week’s schedule.
In baseball, West Shamokin tops the West with a 5-1 record, followed closely by Homer-Center at 5-2. They are the only two teams over .500 in the West, while in the East, Northern Cambria sets the pace at 8-0, with Conemaugh Township at 3-1, Conemaugh Valley at 4-2, and Cambria Heights at 4-3.
In softball, Marion Center and West Shamokin are both 5-0 headed toward a two-game head-to-head next week. Purchase Line is 5-1 and River Valley is 4-1, with Homer-Center also above .500 at 3-2. In the East, only Cambria Heights is above water at 5-2. The rest of the teams are a combined 4-24, with three of them winless.
