The Four Nations Faceoff is complete, and players have returned to their teams, so it’s back to regular season play for the NHL.
Today, the Penguins will host the Washington Capitals at PPG Paints Arena. Penguins Coach Mike Sullivan said he caught up with Sidney Crosby on the plane ride back from Boston, and said that he would be a game time decision. Crosby was excused from practice yesterday, but after sitting out two games with the Pens, he was a full-go during the Four Nations Faceoff for team Canada.
Defenseman Erik Karlsson and forward Rickard Rakell each participated in Friday’s practice session. Both players skated for Sweden in the tournament and were excused from sessions Tuesday and Wednesday after being eliminated from the tournament.
