Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States at the Capitol Rotunda in Washington D.C. Monday morning.
Trump opened his inaugural address by highlighting a list of executive orders that will “put America first,” in his words. One order would send troops to the southern border to end “catch and release” tactics for illegal immigrants.
Another would institute a national energy emergency, in which energy would be exported worldwide under his leadership and continue expanding blue collar jobs across the nation.
Trump plans to sign those executive orders, among others, this afternoon.
Vice President J.D. Vance was sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh prior to Trump, officially becoming the first Vice President from Ohio in nearly 100 years.
Following the swearing in ceremonies, country star Carrie Underwood performed an a capella version of “America The Beautiful.”
