Most of Indiana County will experience frigid temperatures over the next several days, even seeing nighttime “real feels” dipping below zero degrees.
A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for all of Indiana County until 1 PM Wednesday. During that time, temperatures will be bitter cold with temperatures not going above 15 degrees. An extreme cold warning is in effect for the higher elevations of the county, meaning wind chills could reach -28 degrees.
Accuweather Meteorologist Jeff Nordeen says the start to the week will be the worst.
Nordeen also offered some tips on how to keep household appliances working during the frigid start to the week.
Frostbite could set in within 30 minutes of being outside and hypothermia could follow with prolonged exposure. You are advised to dress warmly, wear face coverings, keep pets inside, and use caution when traveling.
